“This powerful ecommerce training workshop was the best training I've ever attended. I am grateful for the opportunity to have participated in such an event and eagerly anticipate future announcements from the SABIT Program.”

– April 2024, Warsaw Program Participant

The WMarketplace is partnering with the US Department of Commerce’s SABIT program to support the growth and business knowledge of displaced Ukrainian women entrepreneurs working in the digital economy. This collaboration leveraged the relationships SABIT has cultivated through its business leader exchange programs, including SABIT program alumnae, to deliver training and support to female small business owners who will be key to the rebuilding of Ukraine.

The primary objective of this partnership is to deliver high-quality, innovative, culturally appropriate and expert training to displaced women entrepreneurs who are working to build and maintain their digital businesses and support their families and employees. Many of these businesses contribute to the economies in their current location. Their success and stability while displaced will enable those who can return to Ukraine to successfully build their businesses, contributing to employment, commerce and economic development and stability.

The WMarketplace’s approach includes delivering in-person workshops with small group interaction so participants can share expertise and develop networks and community. The workshops are delivered over two days, with expert interpretation and translated supporting documents, and include: ecommerce best practices for building an online presence; digital marketing strategy and tactics; attracting and retaining customers; leveraging AI-powered business tools; small business basics including pricing, cash flow management and raising capital. Workshop content is updated to capture current ecommerce trends and shifts in strategy.

The impact of The WMarketplace’s training and partnership with SABIT was evident in the post-workshop survey responses. 82% of attendees rated the workshops as “Excellent/Very Valuable” and workshop testimonials called out the small group interactions, introduction of new technologies, the expert interpretation that allowed for full understanding of the content, and the overall excellence of the presentation and content. 100% of respondents said they would recommend the workshops to others. This project exemplifies The WMarketplace’s dedication to delivering innovative solutions in partnership with government organizations that are committed to economic development and gender equity.
